Advances continue to be made on gender equality in Australian workplaces. However, there is more to do. The national gender pay gap is 14.2 per cent. There continues to be a substantial workforce participation gap between women and men. More women work part-time (45 per cent) than men (19 per cent). Only a small proportion of men work flexibly or take parental leave. Women make up 33.6 per cent of ASX200 boards. Women are under-represented in senior profit and loss roles in businesses.

Senate Order on Entity Contracts - 2020 Calendar Year

Pursuant to the Senate Order on Entity Contracts (as amended 14 May 2015), the following table sets out contracts entered into by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, which provide for a consideration to the value of $100 000 or more and which:

(1) started during the period, 2) ended during the period, and 3) started before the period and ended after the period.

Australia National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security 2012-2018

The National Action Plan has been extended to mid-2019. The National Action Plan sets out what Australia will do, at home and overseas, to integrate a gender perspective into its peace and security efforts, to protect women and girls’ human rights, and promote their participation in conflict prevention, management and resolution. It also commits the Government to report every two years to the Australian Federal Parliament on the progress of this work.
