Publication abstract:

On 13 February 2008, the Prime Minister of Australia, Keven Rudd, delivered a formal apology to Australia’s Indigenous peoples, in particular the Stolen Generations.

On behalf of the Australian Parliament, Kevin Rudd apologised for the laws and policies of successive parliaments and governments, especially for the removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander children from their families, their communities and their country, that have caused profound grief, suffering and loss by the Stolen generations and their families.

A copy of the commemorative manuscript of the Apology to Australia’s Indigenous Peoples signed by Kevin Rudd is available for download.
