As a Commonwealth member country, Australia participates in the Women’s Affairs Ministers’ Meetings (WAMMs). The most recent WAMM was held in Apia, Samoa in September 2016.
The next WAMM forum is scheduled to take place in Kenya, 2019.
Australia also attends the Annual Consultation of Commonwealth National Women’s Machineries (NWMs), generally held in the margins of the UN Commission on the Status of Women. The meeting considers the achievements and challenges towards gender equality across the Commonwealth.
