Their Majesties the King and Queen of Denmark stand side by side, smiling, in front of Uluru in Australia. The red sandstone monolith rises in the background under an overcast sky, while dry grasses and red earth surround the couple in the foreground. The King wears a navy shirt and light trousers, and the Queen wears a long skirt, patterned blouse, and a wide-brimmed hat.

Their Majesties The King and Queen of Denmark have concluded the official program of their Australian visit, a journey that has taken them across some of our country’s most iconic and meaningful places. Beginning in the Northern Territory, their time at Uluru offered a powerful connection to Country—meeting with Anangu Traditional Owners, experiencing cultural performances, and witnessing both sunrise and sunset over the landscape.

In Canberra, the visit turned to reflection and national significance. After engaging with members of the public at the Australian War Memorial and taking part in a wreath-laying ceremony, Their Majesties continued to Parliament House, highlighting shared values and long-standing ties between Denmark and Australia.

Melbourne brought a forward-looking focus to the tour, with emphasis on innovation, youth, and collaboration. Engagements ranged from meeting young Australians and exploring sustainable development initiatives to learning about medical research partnerships at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

The official visit has now concluded in Hobart, where Their Majesties’ final engagements focused on community, sustainability, and the environment. This brings to a close a visit that has spanned cultures, regions, and shared priorities across Australia.
