Australia and Vietnam have agreed to closer cooperation across defence, security, trade and innovation, bolstering the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership our two nations share.

Australia and Vietnam have signed a number of agreements that will:

  • promote maritime security cooperation and border management
  • boost economic ties through increased digital trade
  • strengthen cooperation on agriculture and sustainable development
  • re-open the Vietnamese market for Australian game meat
  • improve cooperation on health, with Australia supporting medical research, pandemic preparedness, and rural and remote healthcare in Vietnam 
  • support vocational education and training cooperation.

The Vietnam–Australia relationship is grounded in strategic trust, and a shared commitment to a peaceful, stable, secure and prosperous region.
