State Memorial Service for the Honourable Peter Keaston Reith AM

A State Memorial Service for the Honourable Peter Keaston Reith AM will take place at 1.00 pm on Thursday 17 November 2022 at St Andrew’s Brighton, 228 New Street, Brighton, Victoria.

Mr Reith was a Cabinet Minister from 1996 to 2001 and was the Minister for Defence (2001), Minister for Employment, Workplace Relations and Small Business (1998 to 2001), Minister for Workplace Relations and Small Business (1997 to 1998), Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Public Service (1996 to 1997) and the Minister for Industrial Relations (1996 to 1997).

Mr Reith was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2019 for significant service to the Parliament of Australia, and to the community of Victoria.

Family, friends, representatives of organisations and those on the Commonwealth Table of Precedence including former ministers, should contact the Protocol and International Visits Branch, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in Canberra on (02) 6271 6129 or email statememorial@pmc.gov.au regarding attendance.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and will be shown to seating in order of arrival until the venue reaches capacity.

Doors will open at 11.30 am. Attendees are kindly requested to be seated by 12.15 pm. Ushers will be on hand to assist with seating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dementia Australia in Mr Reith’s name.

The State Memorial Service will be live streamed from 12.30 pm.
