The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet's Annual Report 2025–26 is now available.

The report outlines PM&C’s activities, performance and achievements against the 3 key activities outlined in our Corporate Plan 2025–26:

  • provide informed, impactful and timely advice
  • provide coordination and support for government priorities and initiatives
  • enable Cabinet operations.

Case studies demonstrate how PM&C supports government decision-making and contributes to outcomes for Australians. They highlight how the department:

  • supported evidence-based policy development to help Australians get a better deal on banking products through the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government (BETA)
  • established a cross-government taskforce to design the Critical Minerals Strategic Reserve
  • supported implementation of the government’s response to the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide
  • built future capability across the APS through the PM&C Graduate Program, including partnerships that provide graduates with experience in First Nations policy and remote communities
  • applied behavioural science to support more inclusive recruitment practices and strengthen diversity in Australia's cyber security workforce
  • marked 115 years of service at the centre of the Australian Government, reflecting PM&C’s enduring role in supporting governments and delivering outcomes for Australians.
