Relief. Recovery. Regenerate.

Information about the national bushfire response is now available on the National Bushfire Recovery Agency (the Agency) website.

bushfirerecovery.gov.au provides information about the national response to rebuilding communities affected by bushfires across Australia, including:

  • recovery assistance—outlining the Australian Government’s response
  • offers of help including donations and volunteering
  • community visits.

The Agency is led by Andrew Colvin APM OAM, former Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police. As the National Bushfire Recovery Coordinator, Mr Colvin will visit affected communities over the coming weeks and months and consult directly with those impacted.

“It’s critical we get the recovery effort right to ensure communities get the support and services they desperately need,” Mr Colvin said.

“It’s my job to work closely with all the relevant people and experts—at the national, state and local level, to make sure this is a successful, coordinated effort.”

bushfirerecovery.gov.au will be regularly updated with current information on the national response including assistance and recovery measures and community visits.
