A State Memorial Service for the Honourable James (Jim) Joseph Carlton AO will take place at 11.00 am on Thursday 14 January, 2016 in Wilson Hall, University of Melbourne, Wilson Avenue (off Grattan Street), Parkville, Melbourne, VIC.

Mr Carlton was the Minister for Health from 1982 – 1983 and Minister Assisting the Minister for National Development and Energy from 1982 – 1983.  Mr Carlton represented the Federal Seat of Mackellar NSW in the House of Representatives from 1977 – 1994. Mr Carlton was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2001 for service to the community, particularly through the Australian Red Cross in the areas of international humanitarian relief, international law, peace and disarmament, and to the Australian Parliament.

Family, friends, representatives of organisations and members of the public are welcome to attend the State Memorial. Members of the public will be allocated seating in order of arrival until the venue reaches capacity.

Doors will open at 10.00 am. All attendees are kindly requested to be seated by 10.30 am. Ushers will be on hand to assist with seating.
