A State Funeral for the Honourable Leslie Johnson AM will take place at 11.00 am on Wednesday 3 June, 2015 at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre, 30 Eton Street, Sutherland, NSW.

Mr Johnson held four ministerial posts between 1972 and 1975 and was Deputy Speaker and Chairman of Committees in 1983. He was Minister for Aboriginal Affairs in 1975, Minister for Housing and Construction from 1973 – 1975, Minister for Works in 1973 and Minister for Housing from 1972 – 1973. Mr Johnson represented the Federal Seat of Hughes in the House of Representatives from 1955 – 1966 and again from 1969 ‑ 1983. Mr Johnson was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 1990 for service to the Australian Parliament, for public service and for service to the Aboriginal community.

Family, friends, representatives of organisations and members of the public are welcome to attend the State Funeral. Members of the public will be allocated seating in order of arrival until the venue reaches capacity.

Doors will open at 10.00 am. All guests are kindly requested to be seated by 10.30 am. Ushers will be on hand to assist with seating.
