The Prime Minister has commissioned a review of the Australian Public Service (APS).

A range of global, technological and public policy developments are transforming our economy and our society, presenting both opportunities and challenges for the public service. The Independent Review of the APS (the Review) will consider the capability, culture and and operating model of the APS; and will make practical recommendations to ensure the APS is ready, over the coming decades, to best serve Australia.

The Review panel will be led by business leader and Chairman of the CSIRO, Mr David Thodey AO. The panel will consult across and beyond the APS and deliver their report in the first half of 2019.

The APS Review website has details of the Review including the terms of reference and information on the panel members.

The Secretaries Board welcomes the Review and has penned an open letter to all APS staff.
