The Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC has announced the Australia Day 2021 Honours List.

The list recognises the achievements of 844 Australians and is available via the Governor-General’s website.

Included in the Australia Day honours are 570 recipients in the General Division and 28 recipients in the Military Division, of the Order of Australia; 176 meritorious awards and 70 Distinguished and Conspicuous awards.

These honours include the first recipients to be recognised (at least in part) for their contribution in support of Australia’s response to the 2019-20 bushfires and COVID-19 pandemic.

The Order of Australia is the pre-eminent way to recognise achievements and service of exceptional Australians. Nominations for the Order of Australia come directly from the community.
