Neville Power, the Chair of the National COVID-19 Coordination Commission, has welcomed the Prime Minister’s announcement today of the Commission’s sharpened focus on providing advice on the economic recovery.
In its new role as an Advisory Board, the Commission will be concentrating its effort on supporting the Government’s plans for Australia’s economic recovery and getting as many people back into jobs as quickly as possible.
The Hon Greg Combet AM has concluded his role with the NCCC, having helped make a significant contribution to resolving issues through the crisis.
Working closely with unions and employer groups, Mr Combet and the IR working group developed COVID-19 safe working approaches to protect businesses, their employees and customers, and to make sure employers are prepared to respond quickly to any COVID-19 issues in their workplaces as restrictions eased.
Today the Chair of the NCCC, Mr Neville Power, made a statement to the Senate Select Committee, COVID-19 (Australian Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic).

The National COVID-19 Coordination Commission today announced the establishment of an Industrial Relations (IR) Working Group to help as many businesses as possible to operate and keep their employees and customers safe through the COVID-19 crisis.
Commissioners with the newly formed National COVID-19 Coordination Commission, Greg Combet AM and Catherine Tanna, are working with manufacturers to ensure supply of essential products, such as personal protection equipment, and solve supply chain issues to keep critical goods flowing to Australian communities.
