PM&C remains committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. We work to ensure departmental activities are child safe and to continuously improve our implementation of the Commonwealth Child Safe Framework (the framework). As prescribed by Requirement 4 of the Framework, this statement provides an overview of PM&C’s compliance with the framework, including the results of our annual child safety risk assessment.

New Australian Government Crisis Management Framework
The Australian Government launched the new Australian Government Crisis Management Framework (AGCMF) at the 2024–25 Higher Risk Weather Season National Preparedness Summit last week.
The Framework is the Australian Government’s capstone policy for Australia’s national crisis management arrangements. It acknowledges the pivotal role states and territories play as the first responders to crises and enables consistency in how the Australian Government supports these efforts.
