Health Performance Framework 2017 Report now available

On Tuesday 30 May, at Parliament House, the Minister for Indigenous Health, the Hon Ken Wyatt AM, MP launched the 2017 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Performance Framework (HPF) report.

The report is now available online.

Hardcopy booklets can also be ordered via the website.

The supplementary detailed statistical analysis (dynamic data displays with interactive charts and online tables), is available on the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare website.

Beginning in 2006, and now in its sixth edition, the HPF monitors progress in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes, health system performance and the broader determinants of health.

The HPF has been developed under the auspices of the Australian Health Ministers’ Advisory Council (AHMAC) and is the authoritative evidence-base for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. The HPF is well recognised for its innovative approach to combining evidence from national data collections and research literature with policy analysis.

The health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is improving for a number of measures, although there remain many areas where further concerted effort will be needed to achieve improvements in health outcomes.
