Research and Development Requirements

The National Security Science and Technology Branch utilises a framework summarised in the table below to prioritise counter-terrorism research and development requirements and tasks. Requirements are prioritised based on consultation with government agencies and private sector organisations with responsibility for maintaining critical infrastructure. These prioritised requirements are grouped under broad strategic areas centred on prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.

The NSST Branch further develops requirements which could be addressed by individual research tasks. Research proposals are sought for individual or closely-linked tasks that address these defined requirements.  For further information, please visit the Research Support for Counter-Terrorism program page.

The framework is reviewed and updated on a regular basis to ensure requirements remain current.
